Whenever I watch sports I CRAVE chicken wings. I think this has to do with all the times I join my buddy D at 21 Nickels in Watertown. They have the best chicken wings I have ever put in my mouth. While I would never attempt to recreate their famous salt n’ pepper wings, I had recently stumbled upon a recipe from one of my favorite food blogsWe Are Not Martha. Sizzled chicken wings… who doesn’t want a little more sizzle in their food =)
*Word of warning, these will make you and your friends smell like garlicky fried goodness. My buddy C went home and dreamt about wings from smelling them on his clothes. Not the worse thing to happen in my opinion haha.
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs chicken wings
- celtic sea salt
- black pepper
- 2 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 2 cloves garlic whole (smashed)
- 8 cloves garlic chopped
- 5 T olive oil
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/4 pint brandy
- handful of chopped parsley
Coat the chicken wings with salt, pepper, and paprika. Heat the oil in a large frying pan. Add chicken, smashed garlic, and bay leaf into the pan. Fry chicken, flipping every 4 minutes until golden on all sides. Add the remaining chopped garlic and continue frying another 1-2 minutes until garlic becomes fragrant. Add in brandy and continue to cook until most of the liquid is absorbed. Check around 20 min adding more time if needed. Transfer to plate and sprinkle with parsley to garnish!
